I've recently acquired a Roland VG-88 'virtual guitar' system. As with the Roland guitar synthesisers, you need
a guitar with the GK hexaphonic pickup fitted to use this effectively. Also, this tends to work best with a full-range
amplification system, such as a PA system or keyboard amp. My main use for this is for recording, and I'm going direct
into the mixer on my Roland VS hard disk recorders.
I'm planning to add pictures on the VG88 along with audio clips featuring the different pickups / guitars / amps that
can be emulated. Not to mention banjos, mandolins, dobro guitars and so on - you get the idea!
This is the 2nd generation of the Roland Virtual Guitar system, with the VG8 being the original system, and the VG99
launching onto the market around now (Summer / Fall of 2007).
